My name is Amber Skye Alcock. I grew up in a small town called Hillcrest, about a 40 minute drive outside of Durban, South Africa, and am currently living and working in the city bowl of Cape Town. I received my BA in Fine Art from the Michaelis School of art in 2021. My work often has an overarching theme of environmentalism, and the human/animal relationship. I care deeply for the natural world and have always been profoundly fascinated by the relational modes we operate in when dealing with animals. My work is representative of the contradictory feelings of horror, care, fragility and sometimes humuor that comes about in our deeply flawed attending to them.
